About

Dr. Cetin received his MD degree from the University of Çukurova, Turkey, in 1990. He trained in internal medicine and Hematology from 1992 to 2000 at the University of Erciyes. In 2001, he studied as a visiting physician at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center at Washington University Medical School, Seattle, USA. In 2007, Dr. Cetin became Professor of Medicine. He served as founder and director of Bone Marrow Transplantation Services at the Erciyes Medical Center in Kayseri from 2004-2015. At this time, he also served as founder and director of GENKOK Stem Cell Research and GMP Center. From 2004-2002, Dr. Cetin was appointed as Vice Dean of Medical Faculty then Vice-Rector of Erciyes University. He has been a member of the faculty of MD Erciyes University since 2000 and works as a physician in the Hematology Department. Since the mid-2000s, hematological malignancies and hematopoietic stem cell treatments have been the core of his research area. His career is marked by close collaboration with laboratory scientists, and also his major focus has been on cell therapies in hematology practice. Dr. Cetin’s major pursuits at the present time are new developing therapies with mesenchymal stem cells and directed immune cells against tumors and pathogens (such as pathogen-specific T cells, donor lymphocyte e.g.)
